To create the hover effect, I first found a background to use, which was a picture similar to the one below

Then I proceeded to add Gaussian blur onto the image in photoshop. This will basically simulate the bokeh effect of distant objects through a camera.

Then I laid down my TV flat on the table, and put the keyboard on top of it. This was also next to a window, so I got good natural lighting from the sun.

In this picture you can see the reflection off the TV, but it isn't a major issue in the grand scheme of things, especially when viewed on a mobile device.
